JORGE MUÑOZ WELLS, Mayor, LIMA METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
With more than 20 years of experience in municipal management, Jorge Muñoz Wells is currently the mayor of Metropolitan Lima, elected for the period 2019-2022.
He was also mayor in two consecutive periods of the District Municipality of Miraflores (2011 - 2014 and 2015 - 2018). Prior to that, he was three times a regidor in Miraflores (1999 - 2010), occupying the position of Lieutenant Mayor between 2003 and 2006. He also served as Municipal Director of Miraflores (1996 - 1998).
Lawyer by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and Master in Territorial Planning and Environmental Management from the University of Barcelona; Jorge Muñoz is an executive, with extensive experience in management, planning and administration of public and private institutions. He also worked as a university professor and worked in prestigious law firms, telecommunications companies and also in the mining sector.
He has taken courses in total management, having received a scholarship in Japan and also carried out studies on citizen security in Israel, which led to the visit of Israeli experts in citizen security to the district, who helped implement policies for the Citizen Security Center of Miraflores was a member of the National Council of Competitiveness (CNC) and also, President of the National Network Coordinator of OMAPED, dedicating great effort to people with disabilities. Currently, he is a member of the Consultative Council for Competitiveness of Universidad del Pacífico.
Vocation of service and experience, lead him to pursue his great dream of transforming the city of Lima, making honest politics, with a focus on government thinking of people.
